Aims and Objectives

The Governing Body of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission has taken decision to upgrade its existing Technical/Vocational Institutes offering short-term Vocational/Technical courses to offer long term courses through affiliation from the Director General of Employment & Training (DGE&T), Government of India under NCVT courses. This up-gradation will provide the trainees more opening for job in Government Sector/Non-Government Sectors throughout India. Moreover there is less number of such institutes called Industrial Training Institutes in West Bengal compared to other states.

Investment for making arrangements of an ITI is very high therefore Mission has decided to go step by step towards a full-fledged institution not only at Barrackpore, Dist.- North 24 Parganas and near Joyrambati, Bankura but also in other branches like Purulia, Deoghar, Gorakhpur also.

Most importantly the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda has started from 12th January, 2012 and these new institutes will be a part of the programme for celebration of this great occasion. The name of ITI at Barrackpore which will start initially with Welding Trade (Gas & Arc) is Vivekananda Industrial Training Institute and the ITI adjacent to Joyrambati branch of this Mission is named as Sarada Ma Industrial Training Institute with Electrician course to start with. The names of these Institutes bear a mark of our tribute to Swami Vivekananda and Holy Mother Sarada Ma.
